As part of their Capstone Project for the Lab Coat Graduation Ceremony, Pre-RN Seniors, with the help of their junior classmates, created a video based on their research and interviews exploring new and emerging diseases through the lens of the Zika virus. Click link to watch the results!
See what our Seniors had to share on their last day of College Survival sessions:
“I appreciate all the help that was given to me during the college application process. I would’ve been so lost without all of the help and I’m thankful for everyone who helped me with my essays. I know that all of the information in each session will help me in my transition from high school to college.”
Two of our Pre-RN students were presented with the opportunity to attend 1199’s Nurse of Distinction Awards Ceremony. This honor will surely encourage and motivate these seniors as they continue their path in pursuing nursing studies in college!
The Trustees of the Meringoff Family Foundation recently met to review the entries submitted in the first-annual Meringoff Victory Prize competition. The quality of the 40-plus essays was most impressive – and the personal stories in them were so compelling – the Trustees had a difficult task in selecting eight winners of $2,500 scholarships. The Trustees decided to award all MVP entrants – including Tirsha Wheatly and Steffi Milfort – $500 each. The Meringoff Family Foundation stated that “All of the essays we reviewed were a pleasure to read, and wonderful testaments to the profound impacts our grantee partners have on the youth they serve.”
Congratulations to Tirsha and Steffi!
We are so proud of our Applied Psychology intern staff member, Jonathan Simmonds, for his oral presentation on Effects of Mentoring on Student’s Academic Success at NYU’s Applied Psychology Undergraduate Program Undergraduate Research Conference.
