Graduating seniors of the NYU/1199 SEIU Child Care Corporation’s collaborative Pre-RN program attended their graduation ceremony at the 1199 Penthouse. Distinguished guests, parents and staff enjoyed a delicious banquet while sharing in the excitement of watching the future leaders of tomorrow donning their lab coats and pins. Each senior had their achievements, talents, valued personal traits and fall College destinations highlighted by a current Pre-RN student. Every senior had earned several college acceptances and many were also awarded scholarships to desired schools such as CUNY’s Hunter College, York College, Queens and Medgar Evers colleges, as well as to Pace University, La Salle University, Stony Brook, Adelphi and St. John’s University.
Seniors proudly presented their Capstone Project, which focused on President Obama’s National Preparedness initiative. They presented the results of the data obtained from a survey they conducted and analyzed from family, friends and peers regarding their knowledge of the steps needed to prepare for and respond to potential emergencies and natural disasters. Furthermore, they provided the audience with an informative overview of what they could do to be better prepared.
Pre-RN program graduates acknowledged that participation in the program was a fantastic platform for them in their future educational and career paths.
We wish our graduating seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors!
